IMM Cologne Living Kitchen - Germany, January 2011

A simple post with images to share of the Living Kitchen show in Germany. I am not able to elaborate more at this moment as time does not permit, but surely you can ooh and ahh at the images, no? I am here courtesy of Blanco America. I visited the factory and headquarters today. How do you say "7 patents" in German? I was beyond impressed AND inspired. Look at Blanco. SO-Just for you...

Lechner Countertops - Made of Glass - Trend Alert: sinks in rectilinear "boxes" sit atop countertops Another example of concealed ovens and I will be showing you others Love this cooktop and its grates - by Smeg Gaggenau's awesome booth - a factory type grunge look going on simple, elegant, and note the thin countertopos Clever storage, simple, clean lines, restorative neutrals And last, but possibly my "Best of Show for 2011": Last but not least, the cooktop that I BELIEVE will change cooking forever: Gaggenau's cooktop - put your pot WHERE YOU WANT...anywhere on the cooktop and the cooktop will respond. Image shows the pots at each side of the cooktop to illustrate the burner-less glass

The Gaggenau hob looks great, I really like the LCD screen. I wonder if they come in different colors?

You know I'm a Miele fanatic - but that Induction by Gaggenau was the show stopper for me as well. Hope you are getting ZZZ's.

Can't wait for your future posts and flickr page.

I see concealed ovens more and more these days. Schüller, a German kitchen manufacturer, makes high cabinets with doors that completely disappear into the sides of the cabinets, like in an armoire. I'm really considering those for my next kitchen. They also mix glossy fronts with open wood shelves which very much appeals to me. A bit like the funky wall oven in your other post.

The Gaggenau cooktop is terrific (and oh so expensive). Love that the color matches the counters.

Oh my, that last picture is a replicator out of Star Trek?

I think Smeg cooktops are so interesting looking. So futuristic and unique! I was at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago at the Snaidero showroom and they had them on display. I am a fan now and considering buying one for my new kitchen!

WOW! These are beautiful. I just finished going through both posts! I didn't comment on the other post, but I really link the electric stove that whenever you place a pot or pan, that's the area that it gets warm. Very exciting stuff! They always say that Germans are precise on detail. These images are beautiful! Thank you Susan! I hope you had a great time!

Beautiful photos! I really love those kitchens. Gaggenau's cooktop - put your pot WHERE YOU WANT...anywhere on the cooktop and the cooktop will respond. Wow! Amazing.
